- a short presentation of the organisation
The Jagiellonian University is the oldest Polish university. The Institute of European Studies (IEUJ) began in 1993. IEUJ consists (e.g. of the Department of European Culture and Society, European Heritage Department, UNESCO Chair for Education about the Holocaust, Department od European History, Department of History and Culture of Central Europe. IEUJ conducts MA&BA studeis (e.g.) German Studies, Knowledge about Holocaust and Totalitarianisms, European Studies. A multidisciplinary composition of employees' competences makes the effective implementation of the projecy credibile. Although the Institute does not have its own publishing house, it conducts publishing activities in the department magazine ''Politeja", where it is planned to publish the results of the project. IEUJ employs over 40 academic staff, 15 administrative staff and numerous doctoral students, auxiliary associates, as well as volunteers.
- the role of the organisation in the project
The Institute of European Studies is the project coordinator and an active participant in all activities. As the coordination it is responsible for financial management, monitoring, evaluation and dissemination of activities and project results; integration of yhe work of the international working teams; website creation&updating. Specific activities: organisation of a kick-of meeting (and participation & co-organisation of the other meetings and workshops), seminars and workshops for students and the academic environment, preparatory activities (research in the local environment) and analysis of the results of these research - also in the context of international comparison (together with Italian and Slovak universities, the post-projecy publication preparation, ensuring cascade dissemination of ideas and results in the region and in the international dimension. As the added value, after project financing-based on the project results - preparing academic course and introducing it into the curriculum.
